Count On Us
Giving back to the community and supporting those in need are key pillars of our foundation. Since our inception in 1997, we have been contributing to local and regional associations, as well as national and global charitable causes. We support the agencies that provide necessities when and where it is needed the most.
Whether it is food for the hungry, medical supplies for the injured, or peace and comfort for the ill, we believe in helping as much as possible. Here are just a handful of the charities that we continue to support:
Ahsan Ali Khan Memorial Scholarship
Over the last year, we worked to create a program that would allow us to contribute to the ongoing successes of the families within the Giraffe Foods community. We are proud and honored to present the Ahsan Ali Khan Memorial Scholarship to help team members and inspire the next generation of bright minds. Established in 2022, the Ahsan Ali Khan Memorial Scholarship was developed to help the families of Giraffe Foods’ employees pursue their dreams through education. This scholarship serves as a memorial for our former colleague Ashan Ali Khan. He was a member of the Giraffe Foods family for 8 years and his kind spirit, leadership, and smile will be remembered by all. Ashan was a dedicated co-worker and friend, but above all, a devoted husband and father.
Friends of We Care
We are proud to be a Member Sponsor of Friends of We Care, an organization aimed at enriching the lives of children with disabilities. Together with our Foodservice and Hospitality partners, we support their efforts of bringing joy to disabled children through social and recreational experiences. Through empowering, education, and recreation, Friends of We Care helps special needs children realize their full potential as they interact with peers and mentors at summer camps and throughout each year.
Children’s Aid
We are proud to support the Children’s Aid Foundation, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable youth in the child welfare system. With our ongoing support, the agency provides what is needed for kids to thrive: multi-layer family support, access to basic opportunities, and help during the tough transition to adulthood.
Our additional contribution to the Stand Up for Kids Foundation Scholarship provides further assistance to those seeking career education to enable their entrance into the work force for financial independence. The recipient’s subsidies allow them to attend accredited schools in their chosen careers. We are truly proud of our scholarship recipients and celebrate their success each year.
Sick Kids
True heartbreak is witnessing the suffering of a child ravaged with disease or illness. We stand proud alongside SickKids Foundation in their fight for protecting children’s health, turning leading research into groundbreaking treatments and cutting-edge cures. With our continued support, the SickKids Get Loud campaign is funding the design and build of a new state-of-the-art facility, where world-class physicians and researchers will continue caring for our most vulnerable youth.
